Who is responsible
This is an independent information website, and howtotreathormonalacne.com is responsible for the data handled here. For anything about your data, write to privacy@howtotreathormonalacne.com.
What we collect
- Visit statistics
- Pages viewed, the referring address, time on the page, scroll depth, taps on buttons and links, and general device details like screen size, language and time zone.
- The plan picker
- Your answer and start date stay in the page. Only which answer you picked is counted with the statistics; the date is not sent.
- Server logs
- The host records IP addresses, browser types and requested pages to keep the site secure and running.
How statistics are handled
The page sends visit statistics to /api/harbor on this site, which forwards them to an analytics provider (EU) that stores them on servers in the European Union. Your IP address is passed along to estimate a country. A random code kept in session storage links the pages of one visit and is gone when you close the tab, so different visits can't be connected. There are no statistics cookies. In the EU, nothing is counted until you choose "Allow".
The link to the analysis
Buttons like "Start my analysis" pass through howtotreathormonalacne.com/plan-check and then open acne.today, a separate paid service. The link tells acne.today which page and button you used, and your plan picker answer if you gave one. Photos, answers and payments you give acne.today fall under its own privacy policy.
Legal grounds
EU visitors: statistics only with your consent, which you can change with "Statistics choice" at the foot of the home page. Other visitors, and server logs: the legitimate interest in a secure, working site. Emails: so we can reply.
Stored in your browser
- thCount
- Your statistics answer. Local storage, never sent. Kept until you clear it.
- thShade
- Light or dark look, if you change it. Local storage. Kept until you clear it.
- thTray
- Remembers that you closed the bottom bar. Session storage, until the tab closes.
- th_d, th_s, th_n, th_z
- Random visit code and page count for statistics. Session storage, not a cookie, until the tab closes.
How long
Server logs: up to 90 days. Visit statistics: up to 12 months. Emails: as long as your question needs.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction of or deletion of data about you, object to its use, or withdraw your consent. Visit statistics use a random code, so we usually can't match them to you. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
